Marvelous Moscow

Feeling indescribably obsessed with Moscow 🇷🇺 This city, first of all, feels incomprehensibly HUGE compared to everywhere else I’ve been (it makes sense, there are about 10 million more people here). It is so lively and diverse (not saying much) compared to all the other cities I have visited and I’m just having the best time doing what I do best... mixing as much tourism as I can with my research. That is pretty easy to do right now; I have registered at GARF (the MASSIVE main archive in Moscow) but my documents don’t arrive until Wednesday, so I have some free time to tourist. I went for an 8 mile walk on Sunday and only scratched the surface of some of the cool stuff to see here. Side note, while it’s an amazing city, prices here compared to the rest of Russia hurt: I paid $50 for groceries that normally cost my a little over $10 in Irkutsk. But that’s what you pay for the big city!
