I only just arrived in the wonderful city of Krasnoyarsk late last night, but I can already tell that it will be beautiful. A few fast facts about this great city: 1. It has historical roots as an old mining outpost, being super rich in natural resources and minerals, 2. It is located almost precisely halfway along the Trans-Siberian between Moscow and Vladivostok, making it the unofficial halfway point on the train, 3. It is the easternmost city in Russia with a population of over 1 million, making it the largest city I have so far visited in this country. Pictured are some of my first views from last night upon exiting the train station, as well as my first hot meal (more like a feast) at the hotel after being on the train for 4 days. I’m only here for a quick 2-day visit, but I’m spending all my time at the museums and most vital points of interest. I can’t wait to share more once I’ve really seen the city.
