Well, I’m officially in Irkutsk. My Trans-Mongolian train here took a little over 23 hours, but after all of that I have finally arrived. The train was honestly pretty fun, and I made friends with a Russian tour guide and the group of New Zealanders she was hosting. In Irkutsk I’m living in an Airbnb, and my host is lovely. I feel like my Russian has already improved a ton, and I’ve only been in Russia less than a day. I’m excited for my first day exploring the city and registering at the archive today!
